Abstract:

Every fintech platform eventually becomes an integration platform. After building and maintaining 40+ vendor integrations across lending, bank data, tax transcripts, and financial scoring, we developed a repeatable framework that takes the pain out of vendor integrations. This talk covers three patterns that make integrations predictable, replaceable, and debuggable: a structured discovery process that works even when vendor docs don’t, a canonical data model that normalizes across vendors while preserving raw responses for downstream flexibility, and an error classification approach that routes failures to the right audience: customers, ops teams, or engineering - with the right context.
