Abstract:

Successful card programs include rewards. If you’re doing anything but 1% cashback, you will need a rewards ledger, algorithm, and a lot of additional data to get it right. In this talk, I will share my mistakes from building rewards algorithms a half-dozen times to help product managers avoid the same stumbling blocks and frustration.

For this audience, I will:

Highlight key differences in a rewards ledger and financial ledger
Complain about merchant data problems
Try to amuse you with edge cases, like everything in Hilton Head matching Hilton Hotels
Help you to build a great rewards program that seems simple for your users.

Bio:
