Roadblock Title:

The API-First Hangover: Scaling Beyond the Happy Path

Time:

Wednesday - 2 PM (Windows)

Abstract:

API-first design is easy to adopt and easy to get wrong at scale. What starts as a clean design principle gets messy in a hurry when your startup scales, your event-driven architecture fights back, and yesterday’s elegant contracts become today’s bottlenecks.

This talk covers what happens after you commit to API-first: scaling the principle across a growing organization without devolving into inconsistent contracts, navigating the real tension between API-first and event-driven architectures, and working around the most common pain points before they slow you down.

You’ll walk away knowing where API-first delivers, where it falls short, and what to do about the gap.
